How long does it take to process a worker’s enrolment?

If you’re enrolling workers directly online through the website, we’ll process their enrolments straight away. Once you’ve enrolled your workers, you’ll be able to see them listed in the Manage workers area of your Nest account.

We process all file types in batches. If you’ve uploaded a CSV file through your online account, the processing time depends on the size of the file and what time you upload it. The table below shows how long it will take and what you can expect to happen next.

From 50 up to 999 workers

One hour

We’ll send a message to your secure mailbox confirming we’ve received your file upload. A separate message will be sent to you if there are any errors.

Over 1,000 workers

Overnight

We’ll send a message to your secure mailbox confirming we’ve received your file upload. A separate message will be sent to you if there are any errors.

 

We process files in batches between 8am and 6pm, seven days a week. If a file of 50 to 999 workers is uploaded after 6pm, processing may not be complete until 10am the following day.

Click ‘Go to Your active workers’ and you’ll see the newly enrolled worker’s details.

You’ll also receive a message ‘Details of the workers you’ve enrolled’ in your Nest secure mailbox.

If you enrol workers using SFTP, the time taken to process your file will be slightly different.

If you have chosen ‘Collect daily notification of enrolments’, you can collect return files using the Nest file gateway. You’ll receive a member enrolment notification file containing details of the successfully enrolled workers. If there are any errors, you’ll receive an unsuccessful enrolment file and an enrolment error log file. Please see What happens once I’ve transferred the enrolment file to NEST? for more information on using SFTP.

We’ll send a message to your secure Nest mailbox confirming that we’ve processed your file within an hour.

‘The member enrolment notification’ files are normally ready for collection by 8am the following morning. If we need more time for any additional checks the file will be ready no later than 6pm that day.

We’ll also send you a message to your secure Nest mailbox with details of the workers you’ve successfully enrolled, even if you haven’t chosen to receive return files.

Up to 999 received between 11pm and midnight

One hour

We’ll send a message to your secure Nest mailbox confirming that we’ve processed your file within an hour.

For a file sent after 11pm your return file won’t be sent until the following night. You’ll normally receive it by 8am the day after your file is processed. If we need more time for any additional checks the return file will be ready no later than 6pm that day.

We’ll also send a message to your secure mailbox detailing the workers you’ve successfully enrolled, even if you haven’t chosen to receive return files.

1000 or more received before 6pm

Overnight

We’ll send a message to your secure Nest mailbox confirming that we’ve processed your file by 8am the following morning. ‘The member enrolment notification’ file will also normally be ready to collect by this time. If we need more time for any additional checks it will be ready no later than 6pm that day.

1000 or more received between 6pm and midnight

The following overnight

We won’t process these files until the following evening. We’ll normally send a message to your secure Nest mailbox confirming it by 8am the day after your file is processed. Your return file will also normally be ready to collect. If we need more time for any additional checks we’ll process your file and send a message to your secure Nest mailbox no later than 6pm that day.
