Once you’ve enrolled your workers into Nest, they become Nest members - this is what we’ll call them when we contact them.
We’ll send the workers an email 3 working days after you’ve enrolled them if you’ve given us their email address. We’ll use this to tell them they have a pension pot with us as well as when their opt-out period ends.
We’ll send all workers a welcome letter with information on how to set up an online account, how to opt out if they qualify and more.
If a worker doesn’t receive their welcome letter within 10 working days, they can call us on 0300 020 0090.
Even though we’ll send your workers a welcome letter, you’ll still need to let them know that you’re enrolling them into our scheme. This is so you’re meeting your legal duties by providing statutory communications.
If you’d like more information on what you need to tell your workers, then read our article, 'What should I tell my workers about using Nest?'
The table explains our member enrolment process:
|
Date of worker’s enrolment |
3 working days later |
One calendar month later |
|---|---|---|
|
We create welcome letters for all the workers you’ve enrolled.
|
We'll send the worker an email telling them you've enrolled them - if you gave us their email address. Their opt-out period begins. |
The worker's opt-out period ends which means they can no longer opt out. They'll still be able to pause their contributions if they're not ready to save. For more information, read our article 'How do I let Nest know if a worker wants to stop making contributions?' |
