Video: Managing worker opt outs and refunds.
We’ll give you a daily summary of any workers who’ve opted out the previous day by sending a message to your online Nest mailbox. This message is called Details of workers opting out of Nest. It’ll include names of workers who’ve opted out using Nest’s automated methods as well as anyone you’ve marked as opted out through your contribution schedules.
The summary will arrive in your secure online Nest mailbox by 6pm the day following the member’s opt-out request. It’ll let you know who’s opted out directly through Nest during the previous working day but if the member opted out later in the evening, we may have to include them two days after the request was processed. We’ll send opt-out notifications every day of the week if needed but refunds are only processed on working days.
We’ll send any payroll opt-out refunds to the refund account associated with the member’s payment source. It’s your responsibility to return contributions to members who opt out. You can find out more in How will I receive refunds for members who’ve opted out?
You can also track workers who’ve opted out in the Manage workers section of your Nest account. If we’re still processing the member’s request, you’ll see their status as Opt out in progress and once this is complete they’ll move to the Inactive workers area. You can see all inactive workers by clicking on ‘View inactive workers’.
