How does paying by debit card work?

Unlike Direct Debit, making payment by debit card means that clicking ‘Submit schedule’ on a completed contribution schedule isn’t the end of the process for submitting your contributions. Paying contributions by debit card means you’ll need to enter your card details each time you make a payment as we don’t keep these details on file.

You can do this once you’ve submitted your schedule for payment from your NEST online account. Please see How do I make a payment to NEST? for more information.

Using a debit card might not be a suitable payment method for larger organisations and you won’t be able to use it to make payment for several contribution schedules at once.

While there are no charges for paying by debit card at the moment, we reserve the right to introduce fees for paying in this way.
