What happens if I get divorced?

If you're ending your marriage or civil partnership and you ask the court to help you come to a financial settlement, you'll need to get a valuation of your Nest retirement pot also known as Cash Equivalent Transfer Value (CETV). This is because the court has to take the value of your retirement pots into account when it looks at how to share your assets fairly between you and your partner.

To do this you'll need to download the pension inquiry form. You’ll need to complete Section A and then send the form to us at Nest Customer Service Centre, Lynch Wood Business Park, Peterborough, PE2 6FY. We'll then complete the rest of the form and send it on to your solicitor.

Pension inquiry form

If you’re divorcing or dissolving a civil partnership in Scotland, different legislation applies. You'll need a different version of the form as you may have to provide some additional information. Please download the form, complete Section A and then send the form to us at Nest Customer Service Centre, Lynch Wood Business Park, Peterborough, PE2 6FY.
