How do I add or change my nominated beneficiary and expression of wish?

It’s important to let us know who you would like to receive your Nest retirement pot if you die before taking your money out of Nest.

How do you add a nominated beneficiary or an expression of wish if there are no beneficiaries?

• You can add or edit your beneficiaries by logging in to your online account. 
• Select ‘Add beneficiaries’ in My beneficiaries on your dashboard.
• You can then select either ‘Make a nomination’ or ‘Expression of wish’ and follow the on-screen instructions.
• You’ll also need to include the percentage of the pot value you’d like to give them. The total pot value allocated to the beneficiaries should add to 100 per cent.

How to add or edit a nominated beneficiary or an expression of wish if there are existing beneficiaries?

• Select ‘View my beneficiaries’ on your dashboard.
• To add a new beneficiary, select ‘Add new beneficiary’, to edit select ‘Edit details’ and to remove select ‘Remove’.

How to change nominated beneficiaries to an expression of wish?

• If you’ve chosen to nominate beneficiaries, you can change to an expression of wish.
• The choice you make can affect whether inheritance tax is payable. To find out more about inheritance tax visit the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) website.
• From My nominated beneficiaries page select ‘Switch to an expression of wish’.
