Why would I need to use SFTP?

Using SFTP will make it easier for you to update and manage data for large numbers of workers.

There’s no limit to the size of files you send to us and SFTP is a version of file transfer protocol that ensures information is kept safe.

Once you’ve set up SFTP you can manage and transfer files that have been created from a payroll or other system that you use for managing your workers.

We usually recommend using SFTP if you have over 10,000 workers and you’ve used SFTP before.

If you don’t have many workers then it’s likely you won’t need to use SFTP and you can enrol workers and make contributions by file upload or online instead.

You can find out more about the other ways of enrolling workers by going to How do I enrol workers online? or How do I enrol workers using file upload?

You can find out more about the other ways of making contributions by going to How do I complete a contribution schedule manually online? or Where do I upload my completed CSV file to submit contributions?
