Pension providers collectively manage trillions of pounds, so the investment choices they make impact the world we live in. You don’t just trust us to manage your money, you’re trusting us to look out for your future.
Welcome to Pensions made simple with Dev and Chloe, where you’ll learn how Nest invests your money with an eye to the future that you’ll retire in.
In a nutshell
- Our goal is to make money for you over the years and decades you’re saving with us. That means investing in companies and projects that are likely to be profitable in the long term.
- Issues like climate change, pollution and human rights affect profitability, so we only invest in companies who actively manage these risks. This is known as responsible investment.
- Nest manages 1 in 3 UK worker’s pension pots, which makes workers’ rights a key issue. We use our influence to improve conditions for our members, for example encouraging companies to pay the real living wage.
- Independent organisations like Make My Money Matter and Share Action can tell you whether your pension provider invests responsibly for the future.
Meet Dev
Accountants don’t often become TikTok stars, but Dev is no ordinary accountant.
As an award-winning creative, ex-accountant and tech consultant turned financial influencer, she’s on a mission to help her 130,000 followers on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube to think smarter about their money choices.
She’s just as passionate about helping people feel empowered with their money as we are about pensions – which is a lot. She’s helping us make pensions simple, breaking things down for you in a way that’s easy to understand.
Meet Chloe
Chloe leads Nest’s work on social issues in the responsible investment team, helping make sure your money is invested with environmental, social or governance issues in mind.
She started her career at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) working on corporate responsibility. She then spent 5 years at the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), starting in governance and operations and ending as a senior stewardship specialist, with a key focus on human rights and social issues.
She’s passionate about equality, human rights and mental health, and is a qualified mental health first aider.
Outside work, she has 2 cats and is a former gymnast and gymnastics teacher. She’s also been learning the electric guitar for over 3 years – with very slow progress!
